Solaris Sport & Racquet Club’s Junior Tennis Program

Tennis is a great way to exercise, meet new friends, enjoy competition and just have fun!

Our primary concern is giving each young player the best possible chance to reach their potential at whatever level that might be— high school, regional, sectional or even national. We know developing potential takes a long time—this is why we use the Long Term Development Program. The years between 5 and 16 are critical. They set the base for the adult player. At Solaris we identify what is important for young players to learn at different ages and stages of their tennis development. We identify the skills to be learned at the prime learning times—the windows of opportunity. We know teaching during these windows accelerates learning. We also know that when the windows are missed, it is then more difficult for players to extend their skill base as they mature. When we use this program, every young player stands a chance at reaching their potential. In addition to professional instruction, parental support is essential for the development of young players. “The Solaris Team” is looking forward to working with you and your child.

Elite Program

Here at Solaris the primary focus of the program will be developing an elite group of state and nationally ranked players. This will be a smaller group of individuals committed almost exclusively to developing their abilities. Players learn to incorporate power and different spins into their shot making, shot patterns and proper footwork. Also, offensive and defensive strategies will improve through drilling, as well as, supervised match play. Private lessons are also recommended at this level as each individual begins to develop his or her own playing style. This class is designed for players who are, or will be playing Level 1,2 and 3 USTA tournaments.
