Welcome to Solaris Sport & Racquet Club’s Junior Tennis Program. If you are reading this then you have already taken the first step towards joining Westchester’s most comprehensive junior tennis program. Solaris provides an incredibly well rounded experience for our junior players. We understand that to be a successful tennis player your training must go way beyond the lessons you take on the court. Here at Solaris our junior players are afforded an opportunity to take part in a well balanced junior training program that includes progression-based clinics, tennis-specific fitness, and classroom-based sports psychology. We also host in-house match play, as well as USTA sanctioned tournaments for all ages and levels throughout the year in order to allow for our juniors to test their competitive match skills without having to drive all over the country. My staff and I have worked very hard creating a system that allows for players to learn the game while progressing from level to level. We understand that every player has a different set of goals when they walk into our program and we are here to make sure that each player is given the tools needed to succeed. It is our goal to not only develop each player on the court but to also set them on the path that best suits their goals.
Over the past ten years I have traveled to over 125 USTA tournaments, logged over 10,000 hours on court and sent over 100 kids on to play college tennis. I think that the program at Solaris is on pace to be the best all-around training program in the region and I am very excited about the potential of both our staff and players this year. Thank you again for thinking about Solaris and I look forward to seeing you on the courts this season. Sincerely, Brian Inglis Managing Director at SSRC
Solaris Quick Start Tennis Clinics (16wks)
The Quick Start tennis format arranges players into two groups, 8 & under and 10 & under. This allows players to train with their peers and have more fun while participating. By adjusting the size of the court, racket, and balls, young players are better suited to gain skills faster and more correctly than before. By using “scaled-down” equipment and lower-pressure balls our younger players are able to rally more quickly and in turn build confidence through point and game play. The ability to keep rallies going helps young players better their footwork and strengthen their racket skills, all while increasing their attention spans.
